Sad Day

Sandra Gail Creighton Gaddy went home to be with God this afternoon at 1:40 pm. She passed quickly and peacefully. She was so happy to know how many people were praying for her and keeping her in their thoughts. We take comfort in knowing that she is now in a better place and is watching over us and is finally whole again. I will post arrangements as soon as we know what they are.

Sandi was the strongest person we have ever known. Why things like this happen we will never fully understand, but we know that Sandi touched everyone in a very special way as a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend and teacher. Her smile and presence will be with us forever.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all! I'm so thankful I was able to spend time with Sandi and see that big smile of hers less than two weeks ago! My heart is full of sadness but I also know that she's no longer in that terrible pain that she's been dealing with. Memories of borrowing her shoes for prom year after year, eating pizza on Friday nights at Pizza Inn while waiting for Mike to get off work, Mike and Sandi's wedding day, phone calls and emails over the years and spending time with her recently at the hospital will always be with me.

Sandi was truly a a remarkable woman . . . one who touched so many lives! In my mind, I keep hearing the song "I Can Only Imagine", and I see a picture of Sandi at peace and in the arms of God. Please know that we are all thinking of and praying for Sandi's family through this difficult time.

Sandi SHINED through and through. What a christian example she was for so many students, family, and friends. We can all learn so much from her. What inner strength and determination she woke up with each and every day through this struggle. Please know that we are praying for you as a family, and will continue to pray for you all.

Blessings,
Gina

I never knew Sandi personally, only through Kristi. I know this day was a very sad day, but I celebrate in knowing that she is home with our Lord and in no more pain.
Please know that we are praying for the entire community that got to know Sandi through many sources.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to know about this amazing woman.
Kristi, if there is anything I can do, you know I'm here for you!

I am so glad I stopped by to see Sandi Saturday. I had a nice visit. Little did anyone know this would be the last visit. Sandi was such an awesome person, words cannot even discribe her. I worked in the Oncology office where Sandi took her chemo. I started there about the same time Sandi became a patient there. Little did we know that we attended the same church, until one day we saw each other. (My family and I were not members of the church but we did attend the church frequetly.) Everytime she came in we would talk forever, usually until they called her back to see the Doctor. She always had her bag and her laptop. And ALWAYS had a smile on her face! One day being the Sandi we all know, she invited me to become a cheerleading coach for the Upward program, (an athletic church program) I was not even a member and I was invited to do this. It was so much fun!! Sandi introduced me to so many other people in the church. She taught her kindergarten cheerleading class to do a pyrimid!! Can you believe that? Sure you can, because that was the Sandi everyone knew! Always up for a challenge. And because of her out going personality it brought me so much closer to God! I learned so much from Sandi. And the thing is so did so many other people and she didn't even know she was doing it. She was just being Sandi!!
Mike & Family,
I know this is so painful and nothing but the grace of God can take it away. I pray for you guys everyday, several times a day. IF YOU NEED ANYTHING, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL ME!!

FYI: Relay for Life is June 15th & 16th, at the Ozark Jr. High track. If anyone is interested please feel free to call me 849-5308. Lets all go in memory of Sandi!

With lots of love,

Dear Gaddy and Creighton Families:

I was so sad this morning when my dad called to tell my of Sandi's passing. Although I didn't know her well, I have fond memories of her from high school. I will always remember Sandi's beautiful smile and I am glad to see that she was able to keep smiling through all the challenges she faced. She is truly an inspiration. As a teacher myself, it brings me to tears to read the testimonies her students have posted here. I wish you the best during this very difficult time. Hopefully you can find peace and solace in knowing that others share your grief and celebrate Sandi's amazing life.

Sincerely,

Tammy (Breuer) Taylor

Although I haven't seen Sandi in several years, I always have fond thoughts of our days at SMSU. She was always so smart, positive and had such a deep, true love for Mike. I will keep you and your families in my prayers, not only during these sad days but also during the weeks and months to come. I know she will be missed. She was very special.
