Thoughts on a Challenging Journey

A journal composed during the day-to-day trials of a prolonged battle with colon cancer, updating friends and family on treatment, attitudes, thoughts, and feelings.

Hi all, This is Sandi's Mom, she wanted me to give you all a brief update. She has been moved to Walnut Lawn Skilled Nursing or Transitional Care facility. She is in room 304. The room is very nice and tho the move tried her terribly she thinks she should be very comfortable here. Visits from close family and friends are welcome and appreciated , but she tires quickly so we are asking that your visits be short and kept to the afternoons or early evenings. We thank everyone for all of your thoughts, prayers and good wishes.

Mrs. Gaddy,

I really hope u are feeling better. I've read almost all your notes that my mom (Mrs.Rowland) prints off and brings home. I know that everyone here is praying for you, and waiting for you to get back.

Hi Ms. Gaddy,
You might remember me, Hannah Lowe, Logans friend, well even if you don't I just wish to leave you some encouragement. First of I got your address from my CATS teacher Mrs. Smith. I just need you to know that I believe in you and everyone at this school does too. Also, Just be strong we all know you'll try. Tell Logan Hi and know you'll be in our thoughts. Stay Strong. I hope we can get in touch.

Hello Sandy! This is that mean ol' fourth grade teacher, Mr. Morrison. I've been asking about you and very concerned. It looks like you're making some small steps in the right direction! As you know, we've been M.A.P. testing so I'm still mean but you can bet that you're in my thoughts and prayers. Take care and give Logan a hug from his fourth grade teacher! Rick

Hi Sandi,
Even tho I haven't sent any comments in awhile, your Mom has been keeping me updated frequently.
Uncle Roger & I still think of you all the time.
Uncle Roger has been in the hospital himself -- having a hip replacement (april 10th) and is already running (well, OK, walking!) all over the place. We've been staying with friends here in Seattle but head home Fri.(20th) -- can't wait.!!
We both love to hear about your progress and just love to see God in action -- "here's praying for you kid".
Love Aunt Betty
